Barbeque City

Today, in celebration of the coming holiday and in lieu of going to work (Joe + rest of the world) or sitting on the couch applying for jobs and doing laundry (me + other unemployed people), we are going to a barbeque at a friend's house. There's really nothing like sitting around an illegal bonfire in an empty lot in the middle of South Philly, especially when it's already 85 degrees outside.

Here's Philadelphia's own Adam Gertler, who used to own a barbeque restaurant in town called The Smoke Joint, and who now has a show on The Food Network called Will Work For Food. I was rooting for him to win Next Food Network Star last season, but he seems like he's doing pretty well for himself anyway.

view from our roof
Tomorrow we are hosting a little get-together at our house. Joe says it's not a party unless there's a keg... hey Toto I don't think we're in college anymore! Hopefully we'll have a good view of the fireworks from our roofdeck and it will be a good time. Happy almost 4th of July!

Oh. My. Stars.

I am talking about the view.

Not the food guy.
